What should our next question be?

Distracted driving - citizen enforcement

If the police department was provided with video footage showing drivers texting (license plate of vehicle and video of driver committing infraction) could they be ticketed? As a regular bike commuter, I encounter several severely distracted drivers along the Avondale Way corridor as well as on Novelty Hill road on a daily basis, particularly on my commute home. These drivers are easy to spot; they're either drifting ...more »

What should our next question be?

Classes at Redmond Police Department

The Redmond Police Department offers public training to help keep our community safe. Upcoming events include a class focusing on survival with the ALICE method on Sept. 25 and a women's personal safety class on Oct. 8 (registration is now open at www.redmond.gov/policeclasses).

What should our next question be?

What number of deaths and serious injuries on roadways is OK?

How many deaths or serious injuries on Redmond's roadways do you think is acceptable? 10? 50? 100?

Once you pick a number, then discuss what you think we need to change in our transportation system to achieve that number (lower traffic speeds, reengineer streets, create physically separated bicycle lanes, etc.)

What should our next question be?

Other Community Discussions

I heard about this community idea web site from the Block Watch quarterly meetings and have an idea that I would like to submit, but it is neither a police nor a fire idea. Where can all of the other community ideas be discussed?

For example, I'm interested in discussing rezoning of residential areas to include small neighborhood business to encourage a pedestrian community within the Education Hill neighborhood.
